I am active in the New York tech scene, and organize a couple of meetups:

  • CTO School is a meetup for senior technologists interested in startups (CTOs, VP. Eng, Tech Leads) to share experiences and learn from each other.
  • NY Groovy / Grails Meetup is for people working with or interested in Groovy / Grails technology.

I am the C0-Founder and CTO of EnergyScoreCards, a SaaS product focused on benchmarking energy use of buildings.  We help building owners and operators measure how well their buildings are performing, and enable them to make decisions about where to invest to improve their energy efficiency.  We are building the service using the Grails framework.

Prior to my current entrepreneurial adventure, I worked as Director of Technical Services for Alfresco, the Open Source Enterprise Content Management company.  In that capacity, I worked with Alfresco’s enterprise and OEM customers helping them build content-oriented solutions in Social Computing / Enterprise 2.0 space.

I enjoy public speaking.   Over the past few years, I have given numerous talks to multiple national conferences and local user groups on technical and business topics.

My contact info is my first name dot last name at gmail dot com.

  1. Dear Jean Barmash,

I am a New York City based entrepreneur and have just launched a press release for my new online project:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/prweb/20090613/bs_prweb/prweb2525104_1

I would like to suggest it as a blog story to you. It is about a unique blog dealing with free original marketing and advertisement concepts/strategies, as well as outrageous ideas for movies and SNL sketches.

    Thank you for your time.
